The Heat Is On | Solestop Run Club #4

A Growing Community

On June 13, Solestop Run Club successfully completed its #4 community run. With every event, the energy of the community continues to grow, and the turnout keeps getting bigger and bigger.

As runners arrived at the Solestop store, the space quickly filled with participants eager to get started. With close to 100 runners in attendance, the turnout was truly impressive. Due to the growing number of participants and limited indoor space, the Solestop Run Club Pacers decided to move the warm-up session outdoors to the grassy area beside the parking lot, which is something we had never done before. The change brought a fresh new atmosphere to the event.

Bringing the Heat

This time, the warm-up was led by Kurtis. Despite temperatures exceeding 30°C and the sun beating down from above, the enthusiasm of the runners was even hotter than the weather itself.

Once everyone was warmed up, the run officially began.

New Routes, Same Energy

As usual, the event was divided into two groups: a 5K Run Group and a 2.5K Jog Group, allowing runners of different experience levels and abilities to participate comfortably.

To keep things fresh for returning participants, a new route was introduced. The 5K group started near the intersection of Enterprise Blvd and Andre De Grasse Street, heading west before turning onto Birchmount Road and making its way through Verdale Crossing. From there, runners continued along Highway 7 toward Main Street before looping back along Enterprise Blvd to complete the route.

Meanwhile, the 2.5K Jog Group followed Rougeside Promenade and returned to Solestop as the finishing point.

No Match for the Heat

As someone who helped capture photos for the event, I could already feel the intensity of the sun and the high temperatures. Yet, seeing runners pass by one after another with relaxed smiles and positive energy was genuinely inspiring.

Whether you joined the 5K Run Group or the 2.5K Jog Group, whether you ran or jogged, and regardless of how long it took you to finish, every participant deserves recognition and applause for showing up and completing the challenge.

Sweet Treats & Lucky Draws

This event was made even more memorable with the support of KC Baked who brought desserts and a special giveaway for participants. In addition to sharing their handmade treats with the community, they also provided a 20oz Banana Pudding as a raffle prize.

The giveaway itself created one of the day's most memorable moments. Three winners were drawn consecutively, but all happened to be absent. It wasn't until the fourth draw that we finally had our first prize winner present to claim their reward. Moments like these are what make community events so enjoyable and memorable.

See You at the Next Run

Solestop would like to thank everyone who joined us for Run Club #4. We would also like to extend our appreciation to our volunteer pacers for helping plan the route and lead the groups, as well as KC Bakery for their delicious desserts and generous giveaway prize.

Our next run will take place on SaturdayJune 27, at 9 AM. Be sure to keep an eye on our Instagram for registration details and updates.

We'll see you at the next run.
