After the Run Club, the Solestop team is trying something new. We are creating our own apparel. By considering more than just a graphic tee or hoodie, the collection theme is "The Value Behind Object & Culture." Based on this theme, we created 5 different designs.

The Value Behind Objects & Culture

In 2026, deep into the 21st century, the world has become highly civilized and technologically driven. Many objects and practices have been replaced or rendered obsolete by technology, gradually disappearing from everyday life. Even the younger generation today may have never truly encountered them.

Although these old objects and practices are slowly being forgotten, they undeniably existed in history and carry their own inherent value. In fact, their significance may extend far beyond our current understanding or recognition. With limited resources, they once served as vessels of memory, forming the foundation of culture and quietly shaping the world's evolution, becoming the unseen backbone of modern society.

Design Worldview

In today’s digital era, memory is stored in SD cards and cloud systems, while cultural artifacts at a national scale are often preserved and restricted through institutional and ethical frameworks. As technology advances, our awareness of natural limitations and systems gradually fades.

Within this design worldview, the aim is to reinterpret physical objects by transforming them into digital archives. First preserved in a virtual space, then re-presented in an alternative form that allows them to be more accessible and visually perceptible.

Object & Culture Selection

1. STRETCHED - The Value of Individuality

The measuring tape was once an essential tool for craftsmen, requiring skill, precision, and experience. Today, technology and standardization have simplified much of the process, creating systems that encourage people to follow predefined paths. This piece challenges the idea that everything must conform to a standard.

"Rules Are Made To Be Stretched". It serves as a reminder that growth often happens when boundaries are questioned rather than accepted.

2. Crimson Ritual (Bulls Fight) - The Value of Tradition

“Where Honour Meets Instinct”: Bullfighting remains one of Spain's most controversial cultural traditions. While often viewed through the lens of modern ethics, it has historically represented honour, courage, discipline, and ritual for generations of matadors and spectators. This piece does not seek to justify or condemn the practice, but instead examines the tension between cultural heritage and evolving social values.

3. ARCHIVE - The Value of Memory

“Stored for Future Playback”: Before digital storage and streaming services, preserving music required intention. Cassette tapes had limited capacity, were prone to wear, and demanded careful recording. Because of these limitations, every recording carried significance. Unlike today's culture of unlimited storage, where files can be endlessly saved and forgotten, cassette tapes represent a time when preserving something meant making a conscious decision about what was truly worth keeping.

4. NECTAR - The Value of Nature

“Botanical Archive”: Technology has transformed modern life, yet it has also distanced many people from the natural world. This piece encourages a return to observation, appreciating the colours, relationships, and interconnected systems that exist within nature. The interaction between flowers and pollinators reminds us that not all value is created by human hands. Sometimes the most remarkable things already exist around us.

5. Social Currency - The Value of Community

Created for SoleStop Run Club, this graphic explores a form of value that cannot be measured by money. A run club is more than a gathering of runners. It creates connections, friendships, support systems, and a sense of belonging. While these experiences have no monetary price, their impact often exceeds material wealth. The coin becomes a symbol of a different kind of currency: The value of community, connection, and shared experiences.
